Welcome to Mrs. Nosik's Weebly. Let me introduce myself.
I was born in Idaho, where I spent the first two years of my life. However, my parents wanted to see the states by living there, so we moved first to Texas and then Connecticut. Occasionally, you may hear hints of a different accent creep out - especially when I am reading a story out-loud from one of those regions. Keeping with my parents' tradition, I chose to go to college in California where I met my husband. However, when my husband and I were deciding where we wanted to settle down, Idaho was easily the best choice for us. Here, we are raising our two children, a 16-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy. They keep us fairly entertained and busy when we are not teaching. |
I have always enjoyed reading as a hobby, but I also like spending time outside gardening. Another unusual hobby of mine is sign language. I love signing to music as well as singing. In fact, both my husband and I sing in a local octet. If you have Mr. Nosik for math, you just might here him sing once in a while. Music is an important part of our lives.
I decided to become a teacher because I both loved school and reading. I am also fascinated by history which is why English 11 is one of my favorite subjects to teach as it includes two of my favorite topics - literature and history. My favorite types of literature are the classics because I know that they have survived the test of time, and they give a glimpse into history. I also enjoy teaching writing and get excited when students use their feedback to create great writing. I believe that everyone has a spark of genius if they push their boundaries in what they already can do. I look forward to working with each of you to discover where your spark of genius may lay. |
